• The 2022 UV Pinot Noir is from the first vineyard planted by Ulisis Valdez in Laguna Ridge, which are now 35-year-old vines on Goldridge soils. In the glass, it pours a slightly deeper ruby red shade and offers more richness in the range, showing off deeper notes of black raspberries, kirsch, graphite, and purple flowers. The palate is medium-bodied, with balanced concentration, ripe tannins, and a cooling effect, with its soft, stony texture lasting long in the finish. It’s a stunning wine in the range that’s built to last. Drink 2025-2040. Rating: 97 points.
• The 2022 UV Lucky Well Pinot Noir displays a bright ruby hue and is wild and expressive on the nose, with notes of bright spices, wild strawberries, and incense. The palate is focused, elegant, and pure, with super-fine tannins, even, fresh acidity, and a long-lasting finish. It has fantastic texture, and while it’s drinking beautifully now, it will continue to drink well for 15 or more years. Rating: 97 points.
• The 2022 Mononi Pinot Noir offers an elegant spice that accentuates its more floral character, with notes of raspberries, violets, and cherry blossoms. Medium-bodied, it boasts a silky and stony texture and even, refreshing acidity, with fine tannins and refined spices that last on the finish. It has the tension and definition to drink well for another 15 or more years. Drink 2025-2040. Rating: 96 points.
